Kid’s Books in Haiti
I’d written an earlier post about my publisher making a monumental printing error on 130 children’s books before last Christmas … it occurred to me that since the printer doesn’t request the misprinted kids books returned, that various charities might benefit from their mistake! Charities with kids and families that can’t always afford to put food on the table, especially during the holidays might enjoy the gift of free kid’s books as Christmas presents.
Well, it worked! Not only did the 4 charities which took the signed copies of There’s A Crazy Dog Under the Palace! make sure that the children’s books were distributed to needy kids throughout Ohio, but one church-affiliated group made sure that their supply reached the kids in Haiti! I was surprised and overwhelmed to hear about this just the other day, and this photos put a HUGE smile on my face!
Smiles and Fun are International Fare!
But the great news doesn’t stop there! There’s A Crazy Dog Under the Palace has touched the lives of kids in Sicily, Greece, and Tokyo, Japan! And with the launching of the digital version for Kindle and iTunes, the sky’s the limit! The potential exists through these distributors for my kids’s book to reach kids throughout Europe … granted it’s not something that will happen overnight, but when I conceived the storyline for the first children’s book I could never have dreamed that someone halfway around the world would one day be enjoying the adventures of two dogs and a mouse … and asking for more!
